Why we collect personal information

We collect your personal information for the purpose of providing you with the use of our products and service, whether in exchange for a payment or payments, or offered free of charge. These announcements are at the sole discretion of us, the staff at SocialVolt, Inc. All our emails are optional. If you do not want SocialVolt to keep you up to date with SocialVolt, Inc. news and the latest information on products and services, you can opt-out of email communications using the unsubscribe facility provided at the bottom of each email correspondence. Please note that even if you have unsubscribed, emails which have direct correlation with your personal use of our products and services, including but not limited to notifications about your account, payments, activations, confirmations, receipts, payment enquiries, password reminders, replies to correspondence from you, urgent communications and vital updates from the SocialVolt, Inc. staff, will continue to be received. If any of these emails are received then please acknowledge that they would have been sent on an individual basis and that your attention is required on the corresponding matter. The information we collect

Personal information

Upon registration with SocialVolt, Inc. for a user account you are required to provide the following information, each field is stated below:

The account holder's first and last names, email address and a secure password that only you know. You may optionally provide, or be required to provide, other types of data at a later date in the SocialVolt User Account area. Any personal information entered in the fields required to register on the SocialVolt, Inc. platform are used strictly for the purpose of registration with SocialVolt, Inc. and are not passed on to any third party. We keep a record of all user information as well as preferences to create a secure and personalized service for our members, and for use with any website owned or maintained by SocialVolt, Inc. Please note that a user wishing to register for the services provided by SocialVolt, Inc. must provide details which are accurate and correct for themselves. This means that the individual responsible for registering should only register for themselves and not on behalf of any other individual. It is also prohibited for users to have multiple accounts with SocialVolt, Inc. If an individual loses a password for their account then they should use the password reset facility provided or contact SocialVolt Support to recover access to their existing account rather than create a new account. This is particularly important because we do not allow users to register multiple accounts with the same e-mail address.

Other information required for use of our Products and Services

Some of our products and services require financial details to facilitate payment and/or registration for these products and services. Financial information comprises of Credit or Debit Card details or, if the customer opts for payment via PayPal, the necessary information PayPal requires for processing the transaction. For payments via PayPal, the information PayPal requires from you is beyond our control and conducted within PayPal's website and jurisdiction and is therefore subject to their privacy policy and terms of use. All financial and otherwise sensitive information will only be collected in a secure environment in which we have taken the thorough precautions and vigilance necessary to process such information. This information will only ever be transferred over a 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection to our secure server, and will be immediately transmitted via SSL to the secure and reputable payment gateway we use to validate and process Credit and Debit Card transactions. The Credit and Debit Card information will only remain temporarily on our servers for the very short period of time the transaction takes to complete, after which it is immediately discarded. We record and retain information about all transactions that take place for use in our own bookkeeping and reports, as well as for providing customer support, refunds and promotions.

In addition to the personal information required to register your account, we require further information pertaining to any website you register for the SocialVolt, Inc. services. At a minimum, this information comprises of Website Name and Website Domain. You may only provide this information about websites you directly own, or for websites you have express permission from the rightful owners to act on behalf of. SocialVolt, Inc. reserves the right to refuse or later terminate service without warning to any user breaching this prerequisite.

At such times, we may collect personal information relevant to a certain situation. These may include but are not limited to data such as your full name, home address, phone number, email address and contact preferences. Information about the SocialVolt products you own, such as their serial numbers and date of purchase and information relating to a support or service issue may also be collected for the purpose of a particular function with SocialVolt, Inc. We also collect information regarding customer activities on the SocialVolt, Inc. website, network and associated websites. This helps us determine how best to provide useful information to customers and to understand which parts of our Web sites and Internet services are of most interest to them.

Information we collect that you do not directly provide

Our Products and Services include data tracking and processing facilities using data you have given us permission to collect by signing up for an account with us. Analytical data about your website and its traffic, including but not limited to volume (total number of hits, number of unique visitors, number of returning visitors, number of new visitors, number of pages browsed per view) sources (where your traffic is coming from), your website's content (website pages, source code, applications, interface), referrers (internal, external and search engine), search engine throughput (queries, keywords), robots, visitor parameters (browsers, platforms, language, screen resolutions, Geographic Location, IP addresses, custom identifiers) and visitor behavior (i.e. what pages were visited and in what order) is collected, processed and stored on our servers and replicated across secure redundant data stores. Our systems also access and interact with your websites, servers and applications for the purposes of snapshotting your websites' appearance, verifying accessibility of functional, active content and scanning for the existence of the SocialVolt Tracking Code. This is by no means an exhaustive list of data we collect, and the volume and variety of data we collect is subject to frequent change and expansion as we develop and maintain our systems. We will also occasionally use all or any subset of the data we collect about your website and its traffic to test and monitor any parts of our system that are in production or development. The data we collect about your website and its traffic are also vulnerable to interruption, corruption, inaccuracy, degradation, loss and deletion as a result of accidental factors (such as system failure) or deliberate factors (such as violation of our Terms of Service). As such, we cannot guarantee your data will always remain accurate, accessible, or available.

When we disclose your information
